Teknamic challenged Clive Townsend, one of the most iconic creators in the world of video games, to write about his greatest legacy: the game Saboteur! Challenge accepted by this friendly Welshman, who went far beyond, and offered us a privileged (and unprecedented) view of the golden age of video games. More than just Saboteur!, let’s get to know the saga of the creator of the iconic ninja games.

Get to know the origins and personality of young Clive, his first contact with computers, and the beginning of his career at Durell Software. Delight yourself with details and curiosities surrounding the development of Saboteur! and its sequel.

Learn more about Death Pit, Trojan, The Reaper, and many other 8-bit games he was involved in, some of which were never released. Clive also addresses his leap into the 16-bit world with detailed references to Super James Pond, Zonked / X-It, Mickey Mania, Waterworld, Rise of the Robots, and many others!

Clive also writes about the creation of Incognito Games in the early days of the smartphone era, and their games for Nokia models, N-Gage, and other major mobile formats: 3D Tank Zone, ChuChu Rocket, Sonic Jump, Pop Idol, The X Factor and, more recently, the continuous development of the PC and console versions of the Saboteur! games, thanks to its EZcode, a portable language created by him!

In addition to Clive‘s games, discover a more personal side of the Welsh programmer, such as his passion for Comics and ninja movies – sources of inspiration for his creations. And since no one is an island, Clive writes about the countless friendships he has made throughout his career!

A book not to be missed by fans of the Saboteur! universe, by anyone who enjoys retro gaming and anyone interested in game design!
