Print Runs and Availability
Are Teknamic editions strictly limited?
Not always. Some releases begin with an initial production run, but that does not necessarily mean the print run is permanently closed unless we explicitly state so on the product page.
What does “initial production run” mean?
It means we produced a first batch for launch. Depending on demand, licensing conditions, and our editorial decisions, additional units may be produced at a later stage.
Why doesn’t Teknamic always use fixed limited print runs?
Because our editorial philosophy is not built around artificial scarcity. We believe physical editions should preserve, celebrate, and give lasting visibility to meaningful games and the creators behind them.
What gives a Teknamic edition its value?
For us, the value of a physical edition does not come from rarity alone. It comes from the quality of the release, the care invested in its production, its craftsmanship, its cultural relevance, and its role in preserving and sharing the work it represents.
Does Teknamic create editions for collectors?
We deeply appreciate collectors and their support, and we understand why print run information matters to them. At the same time, our goal is not to make scarcity the defining feature of every release, but to ensure that each edition has meaning beyond exclusivity alone.
Why is accessibility important to Teknamic?
Because we want great games to reach more people. Whenever possible, we aim to keep our editions accessible and fairly priced, especially when working with productions and creators whose work deserves wider recognition.
How can I know if a specific edition is truly limited?
The product page is always the reference point. If an edition has a fixed and closed print run, we will communicate that clearly and transparently.
Will sold out editions be reprinted?
It depends on the title, demand, licensing conditions, and our editorial plans. A sold out edition does not automatically mean it will never return, unless we have explicitly stated otherwise.
Why does Teknamic take this approach?
Because we see publishing as more than a question of scarcity. For us, it is also about preservation, cultural value, editorial care, and helping meaningful games travel further.
